Introduction to Accounting

The objective of this course is to help students understand the nature of accounting and its relationship to other sciences. By the end of the course, students should be able to understand financial statements, their types, objectives, contents, and the accounting equation and the effect of business events on it. The students should also be able to identify the accounting cycle for a business, record and post business transactions, and prepare trial balance and financial statements in service and merchandising companies.
